Look Up! is a work made especially for the Gallery By The Lakes exhibition, and is inspired by the title of the show. The print is of the annual balloon fiesta in Bristol, although the rooftops are part-imagined. i used to live in Bristol and the Balloon fiesta would always take me by surprise, a magical moment of tearing back the curtains in the morning to see the sky awash with hot air balloons. It was important for the print to be made up of a delicious array of colours and textures in the rooftops, to bring home the idea that although it's nice to look up, sometimes looking at where you are yourself is often just as, if not more beautiful!
