Carol Peace is an internationally collected figurative sculptor and painter. In 2019, Carol moved to a new studio in East London, she also has another quiet studio in Wales. This dichotomy of locations has brought a new dimension to her work, a strong voice and an unexpected firmness of footing.

The new work is part protest, part hope and all love. Leaves make up the form, nature is also here. And nature is not prepared to be sacrificed. Those new to her work will find a voice that is raw and unwavering, others will find that old friends have grown up and are finding their feet.

As with all of Peace's work there is an embedded feeling of hope, as the poet John Terry wrote of her work, "They are first of all, real people. They yearn but they also give. They rise, they don't fall. They strive; are eternal optimists. They look perhaps slightly disorientated, but there is no pleasure in falling, or in giving up, so they keep on. 'For us there is only the trying'".
