'I don't make sculpture to shock, make statements, or needing explanation, I want to make sculpture that is a 'standalone' thing of beauty, based on the perfect forms of nature'.

Gill Parker is an internationally acclaimed sculptor with a passion for animals and nature.

Initially inspired by the early animalier artists, the forms of the natural world are her inspiration and motivation. Parker has developed a distinct and empathetic style, exploring a simplified focus on form and feel, but still based in realism and an understanding of anatomy and movement.

Gill lives and works in a beautiful part of rural Gloucestershire, along with a various assortment of animals.

Despite no formal training, she created her first bronze sculptures in 1983 and these were immediately bought by Garrards and Asprey.
Early support and encouragement from the Sladmore Gallery led to her first one women show in November 1984.

Over the years she has become a leader in the field of equine and wildlife sculpture creating an extensive body of work, including many major commissions. Her work eagerly is sought by art collectors around the world and is in many public, private collections. Commissions include, Motivator at Ascot Racecourse, the 'Emirates Bronzes' in flight lounges worldwide, the iconic 'Chloe horse' and the 'Five Urban Sculpture' project, Abu Dhabi.
