Kathryn Thomas is a graduate from the University of West of England and is a member of an elite club of student artists to have sold their entire graduation portfolio. Her immediate post graduate years were aided by a grant from the Prince of Wales Enterprise Trust and this has enabled her to build a life dedicated to her art.
Since relocating to Dorset from Bristol in 2009 her original oil on linen paintings have been launched as collections. Notably, Kaleidoscopic 2014 (sold out), Kaleidoprint (2015), Contemplation (2016) and Wonderment (2017). Her Studio off Poole Quay has now closed and you can view her work in The Gallery at Sculpture by the Lakes.
Kathryn's career shows a number of key phases in the development from her original and popular image of horizons though her subsequent fascination with fire, ice and the aurora borealis to her captivating 'Starscapes'
